Seabrook admits he's guilty as charged by Coach Q

After their 3-2 home loss to the Washington Capitals on Friday, Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville did something he rarely ever does: call out a player for a specific error.

And that player was defenseman Brent Seabrook, who late in the second period pinched in too far and allowed a 2-on-1 that resulted in a goal - the first of three straight by the Caps over a five-minute span resulting in yet another gut-wrenching loss.

"There's no reason to go in off the point there in that situation," a frustrated Quenneville said.

A day later, Seabrook admitted as much following practice at Johnny's IceHouse.

"The whole thing started with a stupid pinch by me," he said. "I went down there looking for a play. I shouldn't have been down there. It was just a stupid play.

"I thought we were playing great, thought we had the game under control. Q talks about momentum a lot and then I come up on that play ..."
