St. Charles hosts Veterans Day ceremony Nov. 11

Honor Veterans Day with the city of St. Charles Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Freedom Shrine.

Veterans Day is a holiday set aside to honor and thank the men and women who served the nation in the military, both in wartime and peace.

It is a day set aside when everyone can acknowledge what our veterans have sacrificed in performing the honorable duty of guarding national security.

The annual Veterans Day ceremony to honor and thank all who served our country will be held at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11 at the Freedom Shrine behind the St. Charles Police Station, 211 N. Riverside Ave.

All are welcome.

The ceremony will begin with a reading of the official Veterans Day proclamation, followed by an invocation, salute to the flag, a 21-gun salute and the playing of taps.

In the case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to Fire Station No. 1, 112 N. Riverside Ave.
