Signs help Fort Wayne schools assess Ebola risks

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Allen County health officials are urging schools and other facilities to post signs asking anyone who has traveled outside the United States in the last three weeks to report to the building's main office.

The Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health says the signs are precautionary measures designed to assess any risk of Ebola and identify the need for public health interventions.

The Journal Gazette reports the signs are being posted in Fort Wayne Community Schools and other buildings.

There are no cases of Ebola in Allen County. State health officials are monitoring five people who recently returned from affected areas but say their risk of contracting the disease is low.

The state has a website devoted to the virus at www.in.gov/isdh/26447.htm.
