Bolingbrook soccer coach charged with solicitation

A Bolingbrook soccer coach has been charged with indecent solicitation and grooming, the Will County State's Attorney's office said Monday.

Jason Lentz, 39, of Bolingbrook, who is a coach for the Bolingbrook Raiders soccer club, was arrested Saturday following an investigation that began when a concerned mother contacted members of the state's attorney's high technology crimes unit, officials said.

Charges announced Monday accuse Lentz of using his cellphone to have text-message conversations of a sexual nature with someone he believed to a be a minor. In actuality, the messages were exchanged with a police officer during a monthlong investigation.

Lentz must post $25,000 of a $250,000 bond issued to him to be released while he awaits trial. He also is not allowed to contact anyone from the Bolingbrook Raiders or anyone under 18.

Other agencies that assisted in the investigation include the Bolingbrook Police Department, the DuPage County Internet Crimes Unit and the Naperville Police Department's High Technology Crimes Unit.
