Hanover Twp. raising funds for senior holiday gift program

Hanover Township is raising donations to the annual Adopt-A-Senior holiday gift program.

Here's how it works: Sponsors visit a Christmas tree in the township's Senior Center lobby in Bartlett. Pick one of the tree's ornaments, each representing items on a wish list for seniors in need.

Then purchase, wrap and return the gift to the township's Social Services department, along with the original ornament to make sure that the present goes to the right resident.

All gifts should be dropped off by Friday, Dec. 5.

Monetary donations and gift cards are also acceptable. A check made payable to Hanover Township can be mailed to Hanover Township Senior Services, 240 S. Illinois Route 59, Bartlett, IL 60103,

For details, contact the township Senior Center at (630) 483-5660.
