Jennings will help control county spending

This year in local elections I've decided to focus on the candidate and therefore will be voting for Mike Jennings for Lake County Board.

There is one very simple reason for this: property taxes in Lake County are too high. I believe Mike will be the representative of taxpayers and fight the spending habits of those currently on the board, in which the current members don't seem to put a priority on conserving taxpayer money.

There is currently a $100 million county courts building about to start construction in Waukegan. Ground hasn't even been broken yet and the project is already $16 million over budget. Why is a new building like this needed?

Mike thinks we should have used this money to attract business and jobs to Lake County with tax incentives. That makes a lot of sense to me.

What I like about Mike is that he's a working guy, just retired as a firefighter/paramedic, and who also runs his own small business. He has common sense and understands how hard it is for people to pay taxes, especially when they keep going up.

He'll fight to keep the board from spending money like this in the future.
