Lake County road closure:

The Lake County Division of Transportation will restrict all access on Harris Road at Peterson Road, beginning Monday, Nov. 3, at 6 a.m. for seven days. The closure is necessary as part of the Peterson Road reconstruction and widening project, transportation officials said in a news release. The signed detour route for Harris Road closure will be Peterson Road, to Midlothian Road, to Winchester Road. The $10.8 million road construction project on Peterson Road continues in portions of Grayslake and Libertyville. The work will widen nearly 1.3 miles of Peterson Road to four lanes with left-turn lanes at intersections from near Harris Road to west of Route 83. About three-quarters of a mile of Route 83 on either side of Peterson also will be improved, and the intersection will be upgraded to include two through lanes, dual left-turn lanes and a right-turn lane in each direction. A landscaped median and bike path on the north side of the road also are in the plan.
