We've moved on from religious bashing

In his letter "Catholics should remember the past" (Oct. 4), George Blinick makes reference to the problem between the Catholic Church and Galileo.

Ahem! Mr. Blinick, for your information, everyone living on good old Mother Earth is fully aware the sun certainly rises in the east and sets in the west. This is because we are all using the earth as our "inertial frame of reference." Does that make sense to you?

A simple scientific experiment shows that the sun is moving and not the earth. This has to do also with the relative rather than the absolute "character of motion" developed by Albert Einstein and H.A. Lorentz called "the special theory of relativity."

So let us leave "religious bashing" to the dustbin of history and try to love one another instead. The same someone (you know who) also said, "Judge not and you will not be judged". Peace!
