Prospect High School presents 'The 39 Steps'

Prospect High School will hold its fall production, "The 39 Steps," between Thursday, Oct. 23 and Saturday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. in the school theater, 801 W. Kensington Road, in Mount Prospect.

"The 39 Steps" is a fast paced mix of a Hitchcock masterpiece, a juicy spy novel, and a dash of Monty Python. The award-winning play written by Patrick Barlow is a farce, based off the original novel by John Buchan and Hitchcock's film version.

In "The 39 Steps," a man with a boring life meets a woman with a thick accent who says she's a spy. When he takes her home, she is murdered. Soon, a mysterious organization called "The 39 Steps" is hot on the man's trail in a nationwide manhunt that climaxes in a death-defying finale.

The cast is a mix of Prospect High School theater veterans, experienced freshman, and seniors who are performing on the Prospect stage for their first time. Students are also participating in student directing, artistic directing, production, marketing, props, costumes, set construction, stage crew, tech crew and house management.

Tickets are $8 for adults, and $6 for students and senior citizens. Call House Manager Sandy Ghilarducci at (847) 718-5222 to purchase tickets in advance or purchase online tickets at phsfinearts.seatyourself.biz.
