Aurora man dies from injuries in Naperville crash

An Aurora man has died of injuries he suffered late last week in a car crash in Naperville, authorities said Friday.

Nikhil Siony, 45, was airlifted Friday to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove after he was involved in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 75th Street and Book Road, Naperville police said.

Police said Siony was driving a 2008 Toyota when it was struck by a 2009 Mazda driven by 30-year-old Rachel Nowakowski of Villa Park.

Siony had to be extricated from his vehicle by the Naperville Fire Department.

A preliminary investigation indicated Siony was driving east on 75th Street when Nowakowski turned south on Book Road from westbound 75th Street and hit Siony's car, police said.

Nowakowski was treated for minor injuries and released from Edward Hospital in Naperville.

Police said Nowakowski was cited for failure to yield while turning left, driving without a valid license and failure to provide proof of insurance.
