Giant bra at Rosemont mall creates stir, awareness of breast cancer

A giant pink bra is causing quite the stir at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago in Rosemont - all for a good cause.

You may have seen people in the mall's food court this week snapping selfies with Advocate Health Care's Support Bra: "a symbol for women to join the conversation about their breast health - from the importance of prevention and early detection to encouraging them to make their yearly mammogram appointments," according to Advocate's website, StoriesOfTheGirls.com.

Officials say the bra also symbolizes the support women need after a breast cancer diagnosis and through their journey, from doctors, nurses, family and friends.

The hospital will donate $1 to the American Cancer Society, up to $3,000, for every photo taken with the bra posted to Twitter or Instagram with #SupportYourGirls.

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the bra has been making the rounds throughout the Chicago area, including Pioneer Court on Michigan Avenue, Union Station and McCormick Place. It has been at the Fashion Outlets mall since Sunday, and is expected to be there until next Friday. For more information, visit StoriesOfTheGirls.com/Support-Bra.
