Praise for church's gracious actions

A most interesting article by Burt Constable, "Jesus hidden for High Holy Days in Catholic Church," on Sept. 30 serves as a profound reminder to us all that appreciating and honoring another's religion beyond our own is only a move and a thought away. The article describes how Holy Family covered the elegant statue of Jesus so that the Jewish congregation using the facilities of the church could be free to pray in keeping with their theology and belief system.

What an outstanding and kind gesture by pastor Terry Keehan at Holy Family. His understanding and thoughtfulness in temporarily suppressing what is sacred and holy to him so that others with a different religious orientation could pray in peace and comfort is the ultimate human kindness. That part of the world that breeds hate and destruction in the name of religious dogma could learn a thing or two from the Rev. Keehan. Thank you, Holy Family.
