Canadian Brass in concert at Buffalo Grove H.S.

High School District 214 students, parents and community members have the unique opportunity to see and learn from the one of the world's most famous brass groups.

Canadian Brass, the first brass ensemble to take the main stage at Carnegie Hall and the first brass group from the West to perform in the People's Republic of China, will teach a master class focused on performance, communicating musically with one another and the audience and connecting with music.

Additionally, the program will feature a live performance by the group.

With an international reputation, an extensive worldwide touring schedule and a discography of more than 130 albums, Canadian Brass has been a pioneer in the music scene for nearly four decades. The group's concerts include trademark Baroque and Dixieland tunes as well as new compositions and arrangements.

Thanks to Conn-Selmer, the leading manufacturer and distributor of musical instruments for student, amateur and professional use, Canadian Brass will be at the Buffalo Grove High School Theater at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12. The event, at 1100 W. Dundee Road, in Buffalo Grove, is open to the public and free.
