Arlington Heights District 25 student approached by stranger

A stranger pulled up to an Arlington Heights District 25 student on Tuesday and asked him if he wanted a ride home, District 25 Superintendent Lori D. Bein wrote in an email.

The student encountered the driver while walking near Pioneer Park around 4:30 p.m. The driver was in his late 50s and had gray hair and a beard. He pulled up to the student in a black Dodge Dart with a Pennsylvania license plate, according to the email.

After the student told the driver no, he drove away. The student's family has filed a police report.
