Wheeling 'Taste of the Town' Thursday

The Wheeling/Prospect Heights Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry is holding its annual Taste of the Town from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9.

The 2014 Taste of the Town celebration brings together upscale establishments from the famed Restaurant Row and neighboring communities. More than 20 restaurants, wineries and breweries will be on-site offering samples of Asian, American, Italian, Korean, Mexican and other flavors, with a focus on healthy harvest fare.

Tickets to the event at the Westin Chicago North Shore, 601 N. Milwaukee Ave., are $30 through Wednesday, Oct. 8, and $40 at the door. They are at www.wphchamber.com. Call (847) 541-0170 for information and group sales. Cash bar is available.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit three local charities: Alexander Graham Bell Montessori School, the Cancer Wellness Center, and the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago. Other sponsors of the event include the Village of Wheeling, the Restaurant Row Hospitality Group and the Wheeling Special Events Commission.
