Girls volleyball: Fox Valley roundup Thursday, Oct. 2

Crystal Lake South's girls volleyball team kept pace in the Fox Valley Conference Valley Division Thursday night with a 25-19, 25-10 win over Dundee-Crown. The Gators trail Cary-Grove by one game in the division heading into next Tuesday's showdown in Cary.

Cassy Sivesind (16 assists, 5 blocks), Kendall Kilberger (7 digs, 7 kills), Carly Nolan (4 kills, 9 digs, 2 aces) and Emma Burkle (3 kills, 5 blocks) led CLS (17-5, 6-1) in Thursday's win.

Ayana Gard and Emma Brant each had 4 kills for Dundee-Crown and Kiana Mays added 3 kills and 4 digs. Frankie Cavallaro added 11 assists and 3 digs for the Chargers (12-7, 2-4), while Gina Pagano (5 digs, 2 aces), Mandy Mosher (2 aces) and Kailey Moll (3 blocks) also contributed.

Hampshire d. Grayslake North: Lauren Poremba had 8 kills, Kailia Kienzler added 5 and Erin Foss 4 to lead the Whip-Purs to a 25-21, 25-18 FVC Fox win. Brittany Laffin had 22 assists for the winners.

Jacobs d. Huntley: Bridget Wallenberger had 15 kills and served 3-straight aces in Game 3 to help Jacobs hang onto a 23-25, 25-21, 25-20 FVC Valley win. Kyla Fitzsimmons added 9 kills for the Golden Eagles (7-13, 2-6). Erin Erb had 15 kills for Huntley (9-5, 2-3).

Westminster Christian d. Mooseheart: Emily Lamp dished out 20 assists to go with 2 kills, 2 aces and 4 digs as the Warriors won 21-25, 25-16, 25-17 in the Northeastern Athletic Conference. Sarah Beusse added 6 kills and Sarah Schmitt had 8 digs, 3 aces and 4 kills for Westminster (6-8-1, 4-4).
