Raw milk from farm is safe, healthy

According to the Center for Disease Control since 1998 in Illinois there have been only two small food-borne illnesses outbreaks for a total of 20 illnesses from raw milk with zero hospitalizations and zero deaths. An estimated 400,000 people drink raw milk in Illinois.

In the same time frame the CDC reported there were 546 illnesses and 25 hospitalizations and one death from eating lettuce in Illinois. Also, 484 illnesses 43 hospitalizations and 3 deaths from eating tomatoes in Illinois.

The fact is that raw milk, produced with care from pasture raised cows and sold directly from the farm is a very safe and healthy food.
