Glen Ellyn man charged with child solicitation

A Glen Ellyn man is accused of trying to meet a local teen for sex, and is being held on $100,000 bail.

Kurt Ellinghausen, 47, of the 000 block of Forest Hill Drive, was arrested late Tuesday and is charged with indecent soliciting of a child and grooming.

Prosecutors said investigators were tipped off to Ellinghausen after he posted a Craigslist ad seeking a "Glenbard South High School boy to hook up with."

A detective posing as a 16-year-old student responded to the ad and began a conversation with Ellinghausen, who negotiated for sexual relations with the undercover detective, prosecutors said. The two agreed to meet at a local McDonald's restaurant.

Ellinghausen was arrested by an undercover detective arrived posing as the student when he arrived at the meeting place, authorities said.

Ellinghausen is next scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Monday in courtroom 4012.
