Libertyville girls volleyball coach Greg Loika called it a "hiccup," which his Wildcats overcame to outlast Buffalo Grove 25-20, 17-25, 25-6 in a nonconference match Tuesday night.

Alex Basler paced Libertyville (19-4) with 13 kills and 5 blocks, while Anna Lillydahl and Erin Dunleavy added 6 and 5 kills, respectively.

The Wildcats' "hiccup" occurred when setter Liz Apgar went out in the second set due to an injury, Loika said. But she returned in Set 3, helping her team storm to a 6-1 lead. A 12-point serving run by Morgan O'Brien ended the set. Apgar dished out 23 assists, while Sinead Prentiss contributed 5 assists and 12 digs. O'Brien had 19 digs, and Mikaella Faber tallied eight.

Nazareth d. Carmel: The Corsairs lost for just the third time this season, as they fell 18-25, 27-25, 25-16 in East Suburban Catholic Conference action.

Carmel (14-3, 1-1) received 9 kills and 17 assists from Morgan Meade. Grace Schofield had 7 kills, 6 aces, 10 digs and 2 blocks for the Corsairs, and Grace Butler pounded 6 kills and lofted 13 assists, and Sierra Kepski tallied 14 digs.

Stevenson d. Barrington: Jori Radtke had 9 kills for the Patriots in their 25-20, 25-23 nonconference win.

Stevenson (14-10) also received 4 kills and 3 solo blocks from Corissa Kurth and 16 digs from Morgan Berland. Radtke and Berland each served 2 aces.

Crystal Lake Central d. Grayslake North: Stefani Keilwitz and Emily Smith each had a pair of kills for the Knights in their 25-15, 25-12 loss to the Tigers in Fox Valley Fox action.

Cassie Reimbold and Nicole LeBaron tallied 8 and 7 digs, respectively, for Grayslake North.

Lakes d. Mundelein: On Monday, Megan Behrendt's 9 kills and 6 digs helped the Eagles win the North Suburban crossover 25-20, 25-13.

McKenna Lahr added 6 kills, 3 blocks and 8 digs for Lakes, and Maddie Demo totaled 5 kills, 14 assists and 5 aces.
