HandsOn Suburban Chicago seeks volunteers to paint health center

HandsOn Suburban Chicago, an Arlington Heights-based nonprofit agency, is hosting a communitywide volunteer event at the Community Resource Center 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4.

The objective of the event is to have more than 75 volunteers paint the entire interior of the Vista Health Center at the Community Resource Center, 1585 Rand Road in Palatine.

The group is looking for volunteers to sign up on its website and take part in a day of giving back.

Vista Health Center is part of the Cook County Health and Hospital System, and coordinates primary and specialty outpatient care throughout Cook County.

The event will allow the health center to not disrupt services for patients and still have the much needed transformation done. Tasks include painting the waiting room, exam rooms, nurses' station and painting two child-friendly murals.

Many local businesses have generously contributed supplies and food to make the event possible.

Volunteers must be at least 14 years or older. For details and how to sign up, contact Susan Bensen at susan.bensen@volunteerinfo.net for more information.

HandsOn Suburban Chicago's mission is to inspire, equip and mobilize people to volunteer and take action that builds vibrant and prosperous communities.
