Job workshop for veterans set for Tuesday in Aurora

The 2014 Hiring Our Heroes Veterans event is planned for Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Pipers Banquets, 1295 Butterfield Trail, Aurora. The employment workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the hiring fair will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This University of Phoenix-sponsored hiring event is being conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Aurora Chamber of Commerce, Illinois Department of Employment Security, the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs, the Illinois Department of Labor Veterans' Employment and Training Service, the Illinois Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, The American Legion, Goodwill Industries International, NBC News, and other local partners.

Employers must register for free at HiringOurHeroes.org. Jobseekers must register for free at HiringOurHeroes.org to guarantee admission. Walk-ins welcome but space not guaranteed.
