Taylor O'Neill pounded 8 kills, and Grayslake Central's girls volleyball team defeated host Woodstock 25-17, 25-22 in a Fox Valley Fox Division match Thursday night.

Marie Gerbasi added 6 kills and 10 digs for the Rams, while Hayley Peterson and Jackie Hamrick chipped in 3 kills apiece. Juliana Frusolone dished out 17 assists on 52-of-53 setting for Grayslake Central (16-12, 4-2). Morgan Anderberg totaled 14 digs, while Peterson had 11 digs and served 2 aces.

"A total team effort," Rams coach Jason Janczak said. "I'm proud of the way the girls played."

Prairie Ridge d. Grayslake North: Bailee Hardy, Kayla Cupal and Maggie Fish each had 3 kills for the Knights in their 25-17, 25-16 loss in Fox Valley Fox action.

Grayslake North coach Jim Sarver said his team played a "tough Prairie Ridge team that has excellent hitting." Despite that, he added that his team played "great defense."

Nicole LeBaron and Kendall Buchman had 12 and 11 digs, respectively, for the Knights. Char Gaunky lofted 5 assists.

Carmel d. Fenwick: The Corsairs won the East Suburban Catholic Conference North Division opener 25-16, 25-16, as Morgan Meade and Grace Schofield had 9 and 8 kills, respectively. Grace Butler contributed 3 kills and 13 assists, and Sierra Kepski tallied 14 digs. Schofield had 10 digs, as well.

Meade added 13 assists and 3 aces for Carmel (14-2), which also received 4 kills from Allie Wayland.

Cary-Grove d. Lake Zurich: Lexi Gora delivered 12 kills and 3 aces, as the Bears lost the nonconference match 25-12, 26-24.

Hannah Sweetwood added 7 kills for Lake Zurich. Amanda Kamins contributed 4 kills, and Mackenzie Andrews had 19 digs.
