Libertyville design firm featured on HGTV.com

Award-winning design professional Joan Suzio, owner of the Decorating Den Interiors franchise of Libertyville, has two room makeovers featured on HGTV.com's Designer Showcase.

Freelance writer Barbara Ballinger interviewed Suzio on her full makeover of a dated kitchen and master bathroom. The article includes before-and-after photos to show the transformations.

"The kitchen redesign includes better storage with more drawers, a big island, new equipment, and a fresh palette of apple green," Suzio said. "We upgraded the master bath with a luxurious custom shower and deep soaking tub for a spalike feeling."

Suzio also is a four-time winner in the company's International Dream Room Contest, which is judged by prominent home interiors journalists in the U.S. and Canada. Her designs have been featured on television and in the decorating books "Divine Design" and "Smart and Simple Decorating."

Suzio studied at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago and graduated from DePaul University in business. She specializes in eco-friendly design, window treatment automation and design for aging in place.

She is a LEED Accredited Professional, a certification that qualifies her to design "green" or environmentally responsible home and office interiors.
