Open Arms Mission seeks sponsors:

Open Arms Mission Food Pantry, 1548 Main St., Antioch, is seeking sponsors for children in need of Christmas gifts this season. The organization anticipates helping approximately 257 families in Lake Villa and Antioch townships. This year, the program is for children up to the age of 18, said Marytherese Ambacher, executive director of the food pantry. As in past years, the group is seeking one gift in the $20 to $25 price range and an outfit of clothing. The needs of families are assessed and ideas and clothing sizes documented through an interview process with food pantry volunteers. Individuals, families and groups from area churches or other organizations who adopt a family are asked to purchase and label gifts for drop off in early December for parents to pick up, wrap and give to their children. For more information or to register to adopt a family contact the OAM office, (847) 395-0309 and ask for Ambacher.
