Dog walk and pet festival:
Our House of Hope K-9 Rescue is sponsoring the "Hope Hike Dog Walk, Family and Pet Festival" from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 11, at Adler Park, 1500 Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville. Cost is $10 per person in advance and $15 per person the day of the event. A registration form is available at www.ourhouseofhoperescue.net. Each preregistered walker receives a free dog walk T-shirt and an Our House of Hope goody bag. The hike will end among artists, craftsmen, entertainers, local rescues and exhibitors. Food and drink will be available for purchase and there will be live music. Call (773) 552-4673.
