Mailer inaccurate on candidate's record

I received a mailer for Carol Sente today that was paid for by the Democratic Party of Illinois and contained blatant lies about state representative candidate Leslie Munger.

The mailer said Leslie "supported cutting school funding." This is totally untrue. I was in attendance at the July 2013 school board meeting that was cited in the mailer at which Leslie Munger attended and also spoke.

Leslie absolutely did not advocate cutting school funding, but she did question the purchase of an unnecessary, expensive bus tracking system. Leslie, along with the majority of concerned taxpayers in the room, felt the system was not necessary, since the school district is very small in absolute size, with many students walking to school or having parents drive them.

More importantly, Ms. Munger wisely stated that the bus driver and many of the students have cellphones, so the school and the parents can both easily track buses.

Ultimately, the school board agreed with Leslie's position, along with others at the meeting, and did not purchase the system.

Carol Sente has had many years to address the Illinois financial mess, but has failed to do so. Carol's voting record is essentially a rubber stamp for Mike Madigan's agenda.

I support Leslie Munger because I know she will fight for balanced budgets, reduced spending, and will find common sense solutions for Illinois, just as she exhibited at the July 2013 school board meeting.
