Lauren Frericks served 3 aces, pounded 4 kills and dished out 11 assists on 25-of-25 setting, as Warren's girls volleyball team defeated Lake Forest 25-20, 25-11 in North Suburban Lake Division action Tuesday night.
Warren (15-5, 3-1) also received a big all-around effort from Lindsey Biedron (2 aces on 11-of-12 serving, 4 kills on 9-of-11 hitting, 8 digs, 2.6 serve-receive percentage). Jenna Walczak "came to play tonight" as well, Blue Devils coach Julie Filippo said, as she had 7 kills on 17-of-17 hitting, 5 digs and 1 ace on 9-of-9 serving. Warren's Kim Hengesh added 4 kills and 2 blocks.
Lake Forest fell to 7-11 and 2-2 in the NSC Lake.
Wauconda d. Grant: Sara Sexton slammed 7 kills, and LeAnne Sakowicz added 5 kills and 5 aces, as host Wauconda won 25-10, 25-21 in North Suburban Prairie action.
Wauconda (18-4, 3-0) also received 5 kills from Kayla Wedl and 3 aces apiece from Ashley Anderson and Fernanda Gonzalez. Haley Meyer chipped in a pair of blocks, while Anderson led the Wauconda defense with 9 digs.
Grant received 4 kills from Kylie Mueller, 3 kills from Lexi Gerdes and 2 aces from Carlee Holland, who was 10-of-10 serving.
Sienna Kallner had 7 digs for Grant.
Grayslake Central d. Hampshire: Allie Daul delivered 10 kills, and Marie Gerbasi added 7 kills, 4 aces and 18 digs for the Rams in their 25-7, 15-25, 25-18 win.
Grayslake Central (15-12, 3-2 Fox Valley Fox) also received 6 kills from Jackie Hamrick, 8 aces and 23 digs from Morgan Anderberg and 21 assists on 70-of-71 setting from Juliana Frusolone.
Taylor O'Neill tallied 5 kills.
