Police: Naperville man had, distributed child porn

A Naperville man accused of possessing and disseminating child pornography is awaiting his day in Will County Court after police completed a three-month investigation, authorities said.

Sami Salminen, 40, of the 4200 block of Rollingridge Road in south Naperville, was taken into custody Thursday and charged with one felony count of possession/dissemination of child pornography, Naperville police said.

Will County Court records show Salminen posted $10,000 - 10 percent of his $100,000 bail as set by a judge - to get out of jail Monday. He is next due in court Oct. 10 for a preliminary hearing.

The Naperville Police Department's High Technology Crimes Unit conducted an investigation into allegations Salminen was disseminating child pornography. After three months, officers searched Salminen's home Thursday on a warrant, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information related to their investigation into Salminen to call the High Technology Crimes Unit at (630) 305-5384.
