Charity garage sale Saturday in Arlington Hts.

The "Truly Priceless Garage Sale," which over the last nine years has raised almost $17,000 for charities, will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at 303 N. Hickory Ave., Arlington Heights.

The garage sale is sponsored by the St. James Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and the St. James Respect Life Committee. The idea is to benefit people who have excess goods, people who need goods, and those affected by disaster of any kind.

Unlike ordinary garage sales, the items are not priced. Instead, donations are accepted for one or more of the following organizations: Catholic Charities, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Women's Center, the Pro Life Action League, and the Knights of Columbus Fr. Michael J. McGivney Center for Hope and Healing.

Donations of new and used goods are being accepted this week at the sale site. And families, groups of neighbors, small faith groups, parish ministries and individuals can help set up the driveway, or work in the driveway on the day of the sale.
