Homosexuality directly against Catholic Church

The Catholic Church was started more than 2,000 years ago and has had virtuality the same rules and regulations ever since. The state of Illinois was started more than 150 years ago and has rules and regulations called laws since its inception.

According to Mr. Plum ("Time for compromise on marriage is past," Aug. 9), you have to follow only the rules with which you agree. If you're going 60 miles an hour in a 25-mile-an-hour zone, when the police stop you, tell the officer and the judge that you're a liberal and laws don't apply to you and see what they say.

If you defraud someone and get caught, tell the judge that you're liberal and not guilty because of your liberalism and see what happens.

The Catholic Church has always said homosexuality is a sin and is against church law. That statute goes back to the Old Testament when God (not Christ) destroyed Sodom and Gommorah for their sinfulness and you can tell from the derivation of the word sodomy what God meant and why he destroyed those enclaves. To embrace homosexuality is a sin and directly contradictory to the Catholic religion and its teachings.
