Police search Wisconsin fraternity for date-rape drugs

MILWAUKEE - Police are investigating a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee fraternity where they say members may have slipped date-rape drugs into partygoers' drinks.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported university police executed a search warrant this week at the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity house while investigating a party held on Sept. 12. Police say several people were left severely intoxicated and with memory lapses. They say three women and one man were taken to a hospital for protective custody.

One of the woman tells police she had a "weird feeling or sensation" before blacking out.

Police have arrested one student, who hasn't been charged.

Students at the fraternity Thursday declined to comment to the newspaper.

A university spokesman says it has suspended the fraternity's affiliation during the investigation.
