Gabby Sanchez led the way with a winning effort of 19:25 over the 3-mile course at Patriot Park to help Wheeling in a 23-33 decision over Wheeling on Thursday in Mid-Suburban East girls cross country.

Leslie Rosiles was second for the Mustangs, and senior Jessie Sanford was the top finisher for Wheeling in third place at 20:25.

Palatine d. Schaumburg: Palatine packed aggressively behind the early leader, Schaumburg senior Erin Falsey, on the way to a 21-36 victory on Schaumburg's home course. Pirates senior Amy Kieliszewski and junior Kelly O'Brien took control of the race during the second mile; Kieliszewski was the individual winner in 19:26 over the 3.1-mile course.

Barrington d. Conant: Lauren Conroy paced the Fillies, winning in 18:52 as Barrington topped the Cougars 21-34.
