Man killed by train in Naperville

Daily Herald report

A man was struck and killed Tuesday morning by a Metra train pulling into the downtown Naperville railroad station, police said.

Metra officials said the inbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe train was arriving from Aurora about 10:35 a.m. when the man was struck.

Naperville police Sgt. Bill Davis said authorities "do not suspect the death was unintentional or that any foul play was involved."

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Davis said.

Metra officials said all trains are back on schedule for the evening rush hour.
