DVD previews: 'Godzilla,' 'The Fault in Our Stars'

Here's a look at DVDs coming out Tuesday:

Godzilla" (PG-13, 123 minutes, Warner): With Gareth Edwards' reboot of the 1954 Japanese classic (last rebooted in a mediocre 1998 update starring Matthew Broderick), the pendulum has swung too far in the opposite direction. "Godzilla" not only has more monsters - three, to be precise - but they're way more interesting than any of the human characters. The MUTOs - Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms - alone are worth the price of admission. They're nasty, hard to kill and extremely destructive. The film boasts plentiful scenes of mayhem, which involve train derailments, collapsing cranes and cooling towers, as well as picturesque havoc on the Golden Gate Bridge. This Godzilla is ready for his close-up, and he looks pretty great in 3-D. Contains frightening mayhem and destruction. Extras include a "Monarch: Declassified" multipart featurette uncovering "evidence" that unravels the 50-year cover-up to keep Godzilla's existence a secret; and behind-the-scenes featurettes "Godzilla: Force of Nature," "A Whole New Level of Destruction," "Into the Void: The HALO Jump" and "Ancient Enemy: The MUTOs."

"The Fault in Our Stars" (PG-13, 125 minutes, Fox): From "Romeo and Juliet" to "Love Story," doomed love is one of the great themes of literature and cinema, its heady brew of sex, death, commitment and mortality a time-honored way for teenagers and young adults to process their evolving sense of how those forces will play out in their own lives. "The Fault in Our Stars" is a terrific addition to that canon - a wise, warm, funny and touching romantic drama about two teenage cancer patients who bond over a shared illness and tough-but-sensitive world views. Contains thematic elements, some sexuality and brief profanity. Extras include commentary by director Josh Boone and book author John Green; a making-of short and featurettes on the cast, music, "The Transformation," "Literature to Life" and "Our Little Infinity." Also, on Blu-ray: six deleted scenes, "The Stars Align: Book to Screen." A "Little Infinities" Blu-ray edition adds an extended version and an extended cut commentary with Boone and Green.

"Think Like a Man Too" (PG-13, 105 minutes, Sony): The derivative, intermittently amusing follow-up to the surprise hit rom-com from 2012 is so frenetically paced and hysterically pitched that it makes almost no room for simple enjoyment. Michael (Terrence J) and Candace (Regina Hall) are finally getting married. With their longtime friends, they head for the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas, but plans, naturally, go awry. Contains crude sexual content including references, partial nudity, profanity and drug material. Extras include deleted scenes and featurettes "Lights, Camera, Vegas!" and "Comedy Last Vegas Style." Also, on Blu-ray: deleted scenes, gag reel and featurettes: "Think Like a Man Too According to Kevin Hart" and "The Ultimate Sequel."
