Geneva Library Foundation to present program on Frank Lloyd Wright

The Geneva Library Foundation Speaker Series will present "The Life and Legacy of Frank Lloyd Wright" from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, in the meeting room at the Geneva Public Library, 127 James St.

The speaker will be by Jan Kieckhefer, giving an inside look at Frank Lloyd Wright and his life and legacy in the Chicago area and beyond.

The Geneva Public Library will distribute copies of the book "Loving Frank" for attendees interested in participating in a book discussion at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2.

Kieckhefer, the director of educational and organizational engagement for the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust, will be making a free presentation discussing the renowned architect.

Through his 70-year career, Frank Lloyd Wright changed the course of American architecture. He emphasized connecting structures to their environment and designing buildings that were integrated works of art.

Few artists in any field have matched Wright's energy, productivity or imagination. In an illustrated lecture, Kieckhefer will explore Frank Lloyd Wright's early career and follow the development of his iconic Prairie Style.

The evening will include a short reception, introduction of the Geneva Library Foundation, the presentation of the speaker and a question and answers session.

This is a free event. Reservations are not required, but suggested. Register by visiting www.genevalibraryfoundation.org.
