Photo exhibit opens at Brushwood Center in Riverwoods

An opening reception for a new exhibition at Brushwood Center in Ryerson Woods, Views From Brushwood Farm: The Photographs of Edward L. Ryerson & Edward Ranney, 1937-1974, will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7.

Edward Ryerson was chairman of the Inland Steel Co. and an accomplished amateur photographer. His photos show how his family and friends used and enjoyed Brushwood. His grandson, Edward Ranney, a nationally known photographer, made pictures of the house and woods. Ranney will speak at 2:15 p.m.

The exhibition runs through Oct. 30 at 21850 N. Riverwoods Roadd in Riverwoods. ​​Gallery hours are Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sundays, 1 to 3 p.m.
