Vintage baseball game on deck

The Hainesville 1864 Civil War Encampment & Small Skirmish will be held 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at Union Square Park, at Patriot Drive and Haines Drive off Hainesville Road. Period music will be played and various demonstrations given. Visitors can meet President and Mrs. Lincoln, as well as village founder Elijah Haines. At 2 p.m. Sunday at the Avon ballfield, the Hainesville Harvestmen will face the Grayslake Athletics in a vintage baseball game. Overflow parking is available at the village hall facility and a shuttle will be available. Visit Hainesville.org for the schedule of activities.
