Glenbard offers tips for successful learning

The Glenbard Parent Series: (GPS) Navigating Healthy Families presents "Make it Stick: The Science of Successful Learning" with author Peter Brown at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Glenbard South High School, 23W200 Butterfield Road in Glen Ellyn.

In "Make it Stick," cognitive scientists Henry Roediger and Mark McDaniel present groundbreaking research that overturns many traditionally held assumptions about how best to study, teach and coach.

In this presentation, Brown will use stories and examples to outline key study strategies and highlight techniques that move knowledge to memory, making for more effective and productive learning.

Parents and teens will leave this workshop with real-world tools that can be applied immediately to enhance retention, self-improvement and lifelong learning.

The free event is open to the public.
