Cyclist hit by car in Arlington Hts.

A bicyclist was hit by a car on Kensington Road in Arlington Heights on Thursday evening, police said.

The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. at the driveway for Mariano's, said Arlington Heights police Sgt. Alan Baumgartner.

The cyclist was cited for a traffic violation and is being investigated for a possible theft from Mariano's, police said. The cyclist was taken to Northwest Community Hospital with minor injuries, Baumgartner said.

The driver of the car was not injured or cited in the crash.
