Jackie Robinson West team returns to city

Chicago's champion Little League team was welcomed home with fire trucks soaking their plane with water and the cheers of hundreds gathered at an airport gate.

The Jackie Robinson West All Stars captivated the city over a month as they battled to capture the U.S. Little League World Series. Their stock remained high despite failing to win the world championship.

The tired-looking team walked into a Midway International Airport decorated with colorful ribbons, slapping high-fives as they headed to their rides home.

The entire city will get a chance to cheer the team during a parade Wednesday along a route that runs from the team's South Side ball fields to downtown's Millennium Park.

The team beat Las Vegas in the U.S. final before losing Sunday's championship game to South Korea.
