New era for Daniels, Christian Liberty

It's the beginning of the new era for Christian Liberty football this season.

The Chargers have turned the program over to first-year coach Dave Daniels, who was the offensive coordinator at Guerin Prep in River Grove the last two seasons.

Daniels has also coached at St. Viator and in various football coaching positions over the past 13 seasons.

"We are trying to build a program that the school and community can be proud of," Daniels said.

Among the returning players are senior linebackers Jack McMahon and Caleb Graham.

McMahon is also a receiver and Graham plays on the offensive line.

"We are building a program and the strength will come from the leadership of those two seniors," Daniels said. "The key to our season will be all of our players playing every play of every game 100 percent until the final whistle blows."

Daniels said the Chargers' goals will be to compete and play each game, one play at a time.

"Offensively, we will utilize the talents that we have and protect the ball," Daniels said. "Defensively, we want to get 11 players to the ball every play."
