A Cook County judge has ordered two men held on $1 million bond each in connection to a police chase that ended in a fatal crash.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports 18-year-old Gabriel Johnson had his bond set Sunday on charges of reckless homicide, aggravated DUI and unlawful possession of a handgun. Twenty-year-old Dontrell Reese was charged with felony unlawful possession of a firearm.

Prosecutors say the men tried to outrun police Thursday but crashed into a light pole. Sixteen-year-old passenger Wally Flex was killed in the crash when the vehicle flipped on its side. He died at the scene.

Chicago Police were on patrol following reports of a gang-related shooting in the area when they tried to pull over the car.
