• Metal pipe and an auger bit were reported stolen at 3:33 p.m. Aug 8 from the 1600 block of Dearborn Avenue near Aurora, according to a sheriff's report.

• A Browning 12-gauge Citori XT shotgun, valued at $2,650, was reported stolen at 1:05 p.m. Aug. 9 from the St. Charles Sportsman's Club, 44W471 Keslinger Road near Elburn, according to a sheriff's report.

• A woman's purse was stolen at about 3 p.m. Aug. 5 after she pulled over near Route 25 and Army Trail Road near St. Charles, according to a sheriff's report. The woman saw a man who she thought she knew, but it was a different person, who opened her passenger door, grabbed her purse, and threatened to kill her while holding a 6-inch knife, according to the report. The woman was not injured.

• A resident on the 6N700 block of Somerset Drive near St. Charles reported an identity theft at noon, Aug 12 after receiving a rejection letter for a credit card he did not apply for, according to a sheriff's report. A July 26 application was made using the victim's name, date of birth and Social Security number.
