St. Charles man charged with aggravated battery

A 27-year-old St. Charles man was charged with aggravated battery in connection with a report of a man found injured Monday evening.

St. Charles police said they were called about 8:20 p.m. to the 100 block of North 15th Street on a report of a witness seeing a man with serious injuries to the face.

According to police, officers found a 54-year old man in an apartment with multiple bruises to his face and bite marks about his body. Paramedics took him to Delnor Hospital for treatment but his condition was unknown, according to a police news release issued Wednesday.

Police said they learned the identity of the offender and found a man with what appeared to be blood on him as well as on his hands.

Marcos Antonio Perez-Velasco, 27, of the 1800 block of Coventry Court in St. Charles was charged with one count of aggravated battery, great bodily harm, a Class 3 felony. He was being held in the Kane County Adult Justice Center on $25,000 bail.
