Distressing news on DuPage lobbyist

Thank you, Daily Herald, for running the article about the DuPage County Board awarding contracts to lobbying firms.

I found it very distressing that a lobbying firm being considered for a contract, V.A. Persico Consulting, has also contributed to the campaigns of some of the county board members.

They may claim that everything is innocent, but that smacks of quid pro quo to me. Will the county board approve the contract because they've received campaign donations? I prefer my government officials to be a little more ethical.

Because of the hint of impropriety, I will not be voting for Dan Cronin and Tonia Khouri this November.
