Police searching for man who shot bank telller

Bolingbrook police and the FBI continue the hunt for a suspect who shot and injured a bank teller during a robbery at the First Midwest Bank in Bolingbrook early this afternoon.

Bolingbrook police were called to the bank, in the 400 block of north Bolingbrook Road, just before noon after a man wearing a mask entered the bank and shot a 21-year-old female bank teller, Bolingbrook police said in a news release.

The shooter fled on foot, police said. The bank teller was shot in the arm and treated at a nearby hospital for non life-threatening injuries. The shooter is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall and 190 pounds, wearing a black hoodie, jeans, a red hat with the Chicago Bulls logo, and wearing a black bandanna with white markings that covered his face.

The FBI is currently investigating the robbery and shooting, and as of just before 5 p.m., no arrests were made, said FBI spokeswoman Joan Hyde.
