Openlands and the Chicago Astronomical Society host a telescope viewing session and stargazing talk from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at the Openlands Lakeshore Preserve in Highland Park. Participants will also watch for the Perseid Meteor Shower over Lake Michigan. Stories will be shared if the weather is cloudy. The program is open to all ages and registration is not required. Participants are encouraged to bring their own seating, flashlights and other items. Limited parking is available at the Walker Avenue entrance at Oak Street.
