Park Place Summer Music Fest:

Waukegan Township Park Place presents a free summer music fest on Saturday, Aug. 9, 1 to 6 p.m. in Belvidere Park, 412 S. Lewis Ave., Waukegan. Enjoy R&B and jazz, dance to polka, reggae and Latin or lift your hands and voice with gospel music. The fest will feature a tribute to legendary singer, Lou Pride. There will be a variety of food, craft, and merchandise vendors, and proceeds will go to benefit Park Place programing. Performers include: The Archie Parks Project, Counter Point, Brewhaus Polka Kings, First Baptist Church Choir of Lake Forest, Alma Rustica, Voices of Christ, Indika and others. Approximately 4,000 seniors participate monthly in a variety of activities at Park Place.
