Mundelein student graduates military academy

Submitted by St. John's Northwestern Military Academy

Cadet Jordan Flaherty, the son Peter and Deborah Flaherty of Mundelein, graduated with the rank of second lieutenant from the 130th Corps of Cadets at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield, Wisconsin, May 24.

Cadet Flaherty attended SJNMA for two years. He was on the dean's list both years and played varsity golf and basketball.

"Here we are again, at a juncture most young people consider an end, while it is merely the beginning," said Dr. Jack H. Albert Jr., president of St. John's Northwestern Military Academy.

"It is this series of beginnings and endings in life where most growth occurs. For our cadets, as with many other young men, it is here one releases childhood and embraces manhood, but not too quickly and not without some trepidation. For our cadets, it is also leaving friends, but never losing the bond of brothers in the Corps."

Cadet Flaherty has been accepted to Marquette University.

St. John's Northwestern Military Academy has been fostering the development of young men into leaders and productive citizens since 1884.

As a college preparatory and leadership development boarding and day school for young men in grades 7-12, and offering a one-year post-high school program, St. John's Northwestern provides an environment defined by four cornerstones of success: academics, spiritual and character development, athletics, and military traditions.
