Daily Herald report

Great Lakes Naval Museum hosts a "Float Your Boat" activity for children starting at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The free event will allow children an opportunity to learn about buoyancy, ships and how things float, and then design and make their own pie-plate boat. All craft supplies will be provided.

The museum is at the base's main gate off Sheridan Road with free parking. Call (847) 688-3154 or email for more information.
